About Jamie

How did she get here?
What began as a curiosity for beautiful imagery has grown into a serious venture to provide each
client with tangible memories that can be passed down from generation to generation. As a child,
Jamie was intrigued by her mother’s passion to continuously capture family memories from behind
the camera. As she grew into adulthood with a devastating illness shocking her family, she began to
realize just how important those images were. She realized that she shared that same desire as her
mother to capture it all on film. In 1999 in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY, she began photographing
small events at a family owned catering hall and set about my study of the art of photography. In
2008, with the passing of her father, the significance of every photograph she had of him pushed
her to take her career to the next level. Since then, she have had the opportunity of photographing
numerous weddings, children and special events. She feels blessed to have clients that have
trusted her with documenting their memories and has been pushing her artistic talent in several
different directions.
Where did the name “DoubleM” come from?
“Often in times I am asked the significance of the name of my company. Throughout my life my
parents have been an inspiration. My parents, Mike and Marie Fischetti weren’t just an ordinary
couple. Both being born to parents who were immigrants and growing up in the areas of Redhook
and South Brooklyn, they worked hard to build a family and in the midst of that were able to run
several successful businesses and a non-profit organization, Guardians of Hydrocephalus Research
Foundation. With forty-seven years of marriage under their belt and a hectic lifestyle of booming
businesses, they never forgot that it was their love for each other that held all that together. In turn
naming all of their businesses with their initials M&M, hence DoubleM Photography.”
Why she does what she does…
To Jamie, “photography is personal and intimate”. “I feel honored that my clients allow me to
partake in documenting their lives. Through my experience, I’ve found that each
I take is about much more than just creating something that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye;
it is about clutching at life’s tender moments, eternalizing the moment and allowing each viewer,
if even for a second, to live in that moment once again.”
